Workshop Itinerary

Please note that we'll start our work together before the weekend intensive begins, and integrate what we've learned in the week that follows.

Friday, March 28th
Midnight

Deadline for submission of ten to fifteen pages to Tina.

Tuesday, April 1st
Midnight

Tina's deadline for sending each writer feedback in the form of inline comments on the pages, and an editorial letter.

Thursday, April 3rd
TBD

Each writer will have a scheduled forty-minute Zoom call with Tina to go over the feedback and decide on a focus for the weekend intensive.

Friday, April 4th
1pm to 3pm

Participants will arrive, settle in, unpack, and enjoy tea and snacks.

3pm

The group will meet with Tina to go over the itinerary and get more detailed information. We'll also go over some basic housekeeping guidelines, and draw up a showering schedule if necessary.

3:30pm

Each writer talks about their work, their intentions for the weekend, and reads an excerpt aloud

6pm

Supper time! We can eat out or order in. There are many great restaurants nearby.

8pm

Free time.

Saturday, April 5th
8:30 to 11:45

Tina will have a self-serve breakfast ready, consisting of oatmeal with buffet-style toppings and/or smoothies.

9am to 11:45am

Each participant will have a 40-minute session with Tina, and a 40-minute session with Laurie, to ask questions and explore their focus. When participants aren't in one of their one-to-one sessions, they can enjoy their breakfast and/or work on their writing project.

11:45am

Individual writing time! Tina won't be available to consult with during this time, as she'll be preparing lunch. :-)

12:30pm

Lunch prepared by Tina. Menu TBD.

1:30pm

Individual writing. During this writing period, Tina is available to answer questions and provide guidance. Breaks are recommended: perhaps a short walk or two.

6pm

Before we have supper, the participants will have a quick check-in to share impressions of the day and discuss anything they’ve discovered.

7pm

The writers will submit the day’s writing to Tina.

7:15pm

Supper! Participants will order in, or dine out. Tina won’t join because she'll be busy catching up on everyone’s progress.

8:30pm

Free time.

Sunday, April 6th
8:30am to 11:30am

Tina's self-serve breakfast will consist of coconut yogourt with berries and toppings (buffet style) and/or TBD.

9am to 11:30am

Each participant has a 30-minute check-in with Tina. When not in their session with Tina, participants can enjoy their breakfast and/or work on their projects.

11:30am

Individual writing time. Tina won't be available to consult with during this time as she'll be preparing lunch. :-)

12:30pm

Lunch by Tina. Menu TBD.

1:30pm

More writing time! Tina is available to answer questions and provide guidance during this afternoon.

4:30pm

Tina will visit each writer to help them choose an excerpt to read aloud to the group during the evening gathering.

7:15pm

Supper time. We'll be ordering in and enjoying each other's company.

8:15pm

We'll gather to share impressions of our experiences, and the writers will read their work aloud to the group. Both Tina and Laurie will be present at this event.

Monday, April 7th
8:30am to 9:30am

Breakfast. Menu will consist of foods that are easily transportable in case anyone needs to leave early.

9:30 to 11:30

Departure. The writers will pack up and say good-bye to each other.
